As the holiday season approaches our small coastal town, I’m bracing for the one thing that makes my blood boil: our one and only grocery store raising its prices to profit from tourists, leaving loyal locals like us to pay the price.
I can understand why small businesses that make a profit from tourism may do this but our local grocery store is busy all year round. So last year I posted in the local community WhatsApp group asking if I’m the only person who isn’t happy about being ‘fleeced’ as locals when I saw the price of apples had gone up by R10 in December (along with many other food items)
This was followed by my comment being published in the local newspaper! Sadly it was published alongside a dismissive corporate response and my follow up comment was never published.
Now here’s my secret…..For most of my life, I was the classic “good girl” – responsible, helpful, and always putting others first. I silenced my own needs to keep everyone else happy. I would rather rage inside and keep my mouth shut, and the price I paid was my own health.
What is the good girl archetype?
She is the epitome of the perfect, responsible, capable, helpful, caring girl or woman. She often rescues others, seldom speaks up for herself or against others and typically has poor boundaries. She is ashamed by her passion and desires and she wants to be liked by everyone and keep everyone happy. As you can imagine, her needs are often last in line.
She’s also typically the woman who comes to me completely burned out.
That used to be me but in 2013 I found myself on-the-floor exhausted and diagnosed with “Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.” My journey inward revealed a painful truth: by trying to be the “good girl,” I had disconnected from my own power, my own truth, and the life-force energy that fuels my health and vitality.
That’s when I stopped just letting it go and found the courage to speak up, not just about overpriced apples, but about my son’s grade 2 teacher who regularly featured in his nightmares and caused him to run away when it was time for school, and about the laundromat that ‘lost’ our clothes and paid us a ¼ of what they were worth. I started to speak up for my own needs and desires.
By learning to balance my feminine and masculine energies, I reconnected to the life force, vitality, and health that comes from being deeply aligned with my own body and needs.
Now, I help other women who are tired of being tired do the same. I shine my light and share my voice (with an extra dose of passion) to help you remember your own, so you can plug back into your vitality and power. This isn’t just about supplements or diet; it’s about healing the root cause of the imbalance and finding yourself in the process.
To support you on this journey, I have a powerful offering:

Once upon a time I heard a saying “If you want to make a change you need to make waves”. That absolutely terrified me but I was tired of being tired, depleted, a good girl and living small. The part that wanted to stand in my full power and potential kind of just unfolded despite myself and it was deeply intertwined in my journey of recovering from chronic exhaustion and burnout.
I want to support you to unfold in the same way…..
