From Glasses to a Sleep Mask: Reframing Burnout

This crazy thing happened yesterday.

I’ve been wanting to start a podcast for a very long time and life has been too busy but also, lately, I’ve just had zero drive to do anything new (I’m sure you know what I mean?!)

However, as I was doing my morning connection practice (a vital part of what I introduce to clients for more vitality and ease) a blog post idea came to mind for the first time in ages (the truth is that lately I’ve been repurposing old posts) and so I went to grab my glasses in my room to get started with typing it up but instead, unconsciously, grabbed my sleep mask (Yip, I sleep with a sleep mask!).

As I laughed at myself and thought “How can I type my post with my eyes closed?!” I had the sudden realisation that I needed to record it. It isn’t new for me to occasionally share audio recordings but this time as I opened my mouth and the words flowed through me effortlessly I knew it’s time for the podcast to begin and with some incredible help from ChatGPT to learn how to set up a podcast and to create a description the podcast was born!!

Ironically, given this sudden creative flow, this episode is all about honouring the pause—feeling stuck, frustrated, and unsure—and why that space is actually so necessary.

One thing I’ve learned over many years of dancing with the shadow of burnout is that when I truly honour the pause, ease and flow always follow soon afterwards. But let’s be honest—allowing the pause is not easy. It takes trust, patience, and a willingness to be with the discomfort.

So here it is – the first episode I recorded and published for my new podcast, From Fatigue to Flow, which I named after my coaching process because I’ve also learned to not overcomplicate things and to keep it simple for others too!

In this episode, What’s Left When Your Body Stops: Reframing Burnout, I share what it feels like to hit a wall—even as someone who supports others through burnout and chronic fatigue. From healing through stillness, to navigating the frustration of procrastination, I explore how burnout can be a sacred invitation into deep rest, nervous system repair, and inner transformation. If you’re feeling stuck, tired, or like you’re just surviving, this episode is sure to offer an interesting perspective and some hope.

I always welcome comments, questions and feedback
